This week we discussed the cost for attending New Start and the financial aid available to cover it.  Nearly no one pays the full listed price for New Start, as there are many ways to reduce the cost.

The easiest way is to submit both the 2024-2025 (summer) FAFSA and the 2025-2026 (fall) FAFSA.  Just submitting both of these earns you the New Start Tuition Scholarship (~50% of tuition and fees!).    You don't need to qualify for any financial need to earn it.

If you qualify for any amount of the Pell Grant using the 24-25 FAFSA, we will cover the remaining tuition & fees via our Pell Promise.  The only remaining costs would be food (varies by student), parking (if you plan to bring a car to campus, usually $120), and textbooks ($70).

If you still need more funding, but do not qualify for the Pell Grant, we have the New Start Friends & Alumni Scholarships to help you cover your costs.

Have questions about your financial aid, or submitting the FAFSA?  The easiest way to connect is to email Financial Aid using their link for current and admitted students.  You will need your NetID and password to log in.  Include details for your specific situation and they will take it from there.  If it is a summer aid question, be sure to tell them it is for New Start.
