A Day in the Life of New Start
Below is an example of what your typical day for New Start might look like for summer 2024! It will follow a routine that mirrors your traditional semester at the university, with a blend of routine mornings and a "choose your own adventure" feel to your afternoons. While some students choose to work part-time during the summer or pick up extra commitments, be sure to block your calendars from at least 8:00am to 12:30pm each weekday to make sure you can fully participate in the core elements of the program!

Welcome to your General Education Course. This course might be different for all of you, but new knowledge awaits whether you are taking Math, English, or Anthropology. On Fridays classes will be held from 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM. |

Give yourself a break between classes, grab a snack or some more coffee. Walk around and stretch for a bit. You are halfway through your classes for the day! |

New Start Su Casa Programs! These programs are designed by students for students. Programs range from educational to social, but are always fun! All New Start students are welcome. |
Attendance Policy
New Start is fast-paced. You may only miss 2 full days of class during the six-week program. If you are planning a trip that conflicts with the scheduled class days, please do not plan on attending New Start. There are no “excused” absences in New Start. If you miss too many days, you may be dismissed from the program and fail your enrolled courses. No fees are refunded for any student who voluntarily withdraws or is asked to leave, and financial aid and fee waivers may be adjusted/reduced accordingly.
