We're so excited to have you, and we're here to make your college transition as smooth as possible. Please make sure to complete the following steps before you arrive.
Welcome to Week 3 of New Start!
We're so proud of you for navigating your first two weeks of college. You're a third of the way through the summer, and the best parts are still to come!
Week Three is Spirit Week!
- Monday, June 26: Tacky Tourist / Beach Day (Dress in your tacky tourist or beach gear!)
- Tuesday, June 27: Decades Day (Pick your favorite era and dress accordingly!)
- Wednesday, June 28: Rep Your High School Day (Show pride in your roots! High school colors, logos, or other gear welcome.)
- Thursday, June 29: Dress Like a Character Day (Disney, Superhero, Cartoons, etc.)
- Friday, June 30: New Start T-Shirts and Pajama Bottoms (No falling asleep in lecture...)
The "grandmother rule" applies: Please be appropriate for classroom settings--don't wear anything your grandmother wouldn't want to see!
Some Key Resources:
- Interested in a Meal Plan this summer? The Meal Plan Office is offering summer commuter plans (a load-as-you-go debit system) and waiving the minimum deposit and sign-up fee for New Start students only. If you are interested in enrolling in this plan, you must call their office or visit them in person at the food court in the Student Union Memorial Center. Contact information is in the link!
- The Campus Pantry is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11:00am-2:00pm. Stop by the lower level of the Student Union Memorial Center to pick up a free distribution of food.
- UA Libraries presented to us during Lecture #2 for the HED 297A course. For research needs (and your Academic Conference presentations), please visit them at lib.arizona.edu.
- If you plan to park on campus during the summer, please fill out this application from Parking and Transportation Services, and submit it directly to their office at PTS-ParkingInformation@email.arizona.edu.

Academic Conference
Academic Conference is a time to experience a full conference, complete with keynotes and student presentations. Keynotes start at 8:00 am in Modern Languages 350 each day.
