New Start Events

New Start offers the opportunity for students to engage with their peers outside of the classroom. Whether you are participating in a service project or performing at B.L.A.S.T., New Start gives students the ability to step outside of their comfort zone. These events are designed to help the students develop a social group while at the University of Arizona. Here at New Start, we believe that in being a successful student means succeed both in and outside of the classroom. It is our hope that these events allow students the chance to take a break from the studying, homework, and hard work they put in.

B.L.A.S.T. stands for Bodacious Lavish Array of Students Talent.

B.L.A.S.T. is an event where students have the opportunity to come out and showcase their amazing talents. B.L.A.S.T. is open to anyone, no matter what their talents may be. Students have done slam poetry, performed songs, told jokes, created dances and even made food. This event also provides an opportunity for students to step out of their comfort zone and show their creative and artistic sides with their peers!

Monte Carlo is New Start's Casino Night. It is a night filled with music, dancing, games, food, and activities. Typically set in the midst of midterms for New Start, Monte Carlo is an opportunity for students to de-stress from their busy classes and to bond with their peers. Decked out in incredible outfits, students come ready to show off their best dance moves, play fun casino games with fake money, and make incredible memories for years to come.
