What New Start did for me: New Start provided me with the opportunity to get into the college mindset. I knew that I would get ahead unit-wise, but I didn’t know that I was going to receive something much greater than just taking classes. From learning about D2L, where to park, making friends and gaining a new independence, New Start really prepared me and gave me answers to those questions that linger in an incoming freshman's mind. I had amazing resources available to me and people that gave me nothing but encouragement, guidance, support, and most importantly, a sense of community. I’ve seen the growth that the New Start environment has been able to foster within myself and many others. This is what led me to not only be a student within the program, but to come back and work for the program. It’s truly an honor to be part of the New Start family.
I decided to join New Start + because: I enjoyed knowing that I could get ahead by half of a semester in units and get to know the campus a little bit better. I wanted to start off college by knowing more about what was to come, and I didn’t know of anyone that had recently graduated from the UA that could help me. I decided it would be of benefit for my future to take my education into my own hands and join a program that could help me start off my college-career on the right path.
Fun Fact: I have been dancing for over 18 years!
