If you are looking for opportunities to lead, teach and give back to the UA community, consider applying to be part of this year's New Start Summer Program. Each year, we hire many of the UA's best to help new students transition from high school to college. More than a summer job, being on staff allows you to grow and develop as a leader while also making an incredible impact on the lives of the students you work with. For students looking to serve as Peer Advisors, Resident Assistants or Tutors for Summer 2012, the ASA Student Employment Application will be accepted through 5:00pm on Friday, March 2nd, 2012.
Current Position Openings
Peer Advisors (20 Positions Available)
The New Start Summer Program is seeking approximately 20 qualified undergraduates to serve as Peer Advisors for the program. Peer Advisors lead daily college success workshops, help with the facilitation of the A ED University Heritage & Traditions course and provide social and educational programming opportunities throughout the summer.
Resident Assistants (7 Positions Available)
The New Start Summer Program is seeking approximately 7 qualified undergraduates to serve as Resident Assistants for the program. Resident Assistants help ensure the health and safety of students living in New Start's residence hall and also provide social and educational programs for program participants. This is a live-in position and includes night and weekend responsibilities.
Tutors (15 Positions Available)
The New Start Summer Program is seeking approximately 15 qualified undergraduates to serve as Tutors for the program. Tutors play an essential role in promoting positive perceptions of tutoring among program participants through active partnerships with course instructors in the classroom, development and facilitation of topic workshops, facilitating study groups and staffing the New Start drop-in tutoring center.
